State Minister for Land, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, stated on Tuesday that any form of procrastination in public service is unacceptable.
He made the remarks while inspecting the Land Bhaban at Sat Rasta in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
During the visit, he toured the Land Museum, childcare centre, social media monitoring cell, land service centre, and the land service call centre. He interacted with officials and employees, inquired about their activities, and reviewed service delivery.
“Officials working in land management must act as public servants,” said State Minister for Land Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin.
“The actual owners of land are the people, so services must always prioritise their needs,” he said.
He called on field-level officials to be more active in ensuring efficient, transparent, and people-friendly land services. The minister also instructed officials to maintain pace in work and ensure all services are resolved promptly.
He stressed regular and timely attendance at offices and asked staff to leave after completing duties on schedule.
Maintaining cleanliness of the office premises was also emphasised during the visit.
Land Ministry Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed, Department of Land Records and Surveys Director General Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, and Private Secretary to the state minister Ashraful Islam were present, along with other officials.
