Rangpur completed a composed five-wicket victory over Rajshahi on day three of their National Cricket League fixture at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, with Mehedi Hasan starring with the ball and veteran Nasir Hossain guiding the chase.
Right-arm pacer Mehedi delivered a superb spell to take four for 26, while fellow quicks Robiul Hoque and Mukidul Islam Mughdho claimed two wickets each. Their efforts bundled Rajshahi out for 119, setting Rangpur a modest target of 130.
The chase briefly wobbled as Rangpur stumbled to 59 for 5, with Abdur Rahim and Shafiqul Islam picking up two wickets apiece. The experience of Nasir proved decisive. He struck an unbeaten 52 and combined with captain Tanbir Hayder to add a vital 73-run partnership off 74 balls that carried Rangpur home. Mughdho was named player of the match and also celebrated his 100th first-class wicket during the contest.
In Bogura, Sylhet secured a convincing 147-run win over Chattogram at the Shahid Chandu Stadium. Amite Hasan’s 58 earlier in the day helped Sylhet to 207 all out, setting Chattogram a demanding 352-run target. The Sylhet pace attack then took charge. Abu Jayed claimed four wickets, and Rejaur Rahman Raja added three more as Chattogram were dismissed for 205.
At the Khulna Divisional Stadium, Mymensingh ended day three in a strong position at 387 for 7 after an impressive batting effort. Naim Sheikh, Abdul Mazid and Md Al Amin Jr all registered fifties, while Azizul Hakim Tamim fell short of a century when he was dismissed for 81. Khulna had earlier been bowled out for 387 thanks to a dominant 186 from Soumya Sarkar.
At the Cox’s Bazar International Stadium, Barishal extended their overnight score of 243 for 5 to post 341 all out. Tasamul Haque struck an unbeaten 58 to round out the innings. Dhaka struggled in reply and closed the day on 124 for 5 with only a 56-run lead heading into day four.
