The National Consensus Commission (NCC) convened another round of discussions with legal experts and advisers to finalise recommendations on the implementation strategies for the July National Charter 2025.
The meeting featured notable participants including retired Appellate Division Justice MA Matin, Barrister Imran Siddique, Dhaka University’s Faculty of Law Dean Dr Muhammad Ekramul Haque, Supreme Court Senior Advocate Dr Sharif Bhuiyan, and Barrister Tanim Hossain Shawon. Retired Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury contributed to the session virtually.
Resuming deliberations from the previous day, the commission focused on unresolved issues related to the July Charter’s rollout. Officials expressed confidence that a comprehensive and actionable report would be prepared for submission to the government in the near future.
Commission representatives present included Vice-Chair Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md Emdadul Haque, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr Mohammad Ayub Miah.
The meeting was also attended by Monir Haidar, special assistant (consensus building) to the Chief Adviser.
