The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has introduced special holiday arrangements to facilitate prospective candidates wishing to contest the upcoming national parliamentary election.
In a press release on Thursday, the NBR said that submission of income tax returns is mandatory for election candidates, while December 29 is the last date for filing nomination papers.
To make online tax return submission easier for aspiring candidates, the NBR, with support from the e-Tax Management Unit, has opened help desks at the e-Tax Management Unit office.
The desks will provide assistance related to online income tax return filing.
According to the release, candidates will be able to submit their online tax returns on Friday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the office of the Tax Commissioner of the e-Tax Management Unit on the seventh floor of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital.
The service will also be available on Saturday at the same venue from 9:00am to 5:00pm. In addition, the help desks will remain operational during office hours on December 28 and 29.
