Film actress Mou Khan is stepping into unfamiliar territory with Shikari, a new thriller-action web film directed by Mehedi Hassan. The project marks her second web film after Shaheen Sumon’s Mafia, and promises to present her in a markedly different role.
The story centres on psychological tension, crime and a mysterious mission. Mou plays an intelligent and enigmatic character who also takes part in several action sequences.
Mou said the broader storytelling canvas of web films attracted her to the project. She read the Shikari script in one sitting and was particularly impressed by its twists. She said the film would introduce her in a completely new look and setting, and she hopes audiences will appreciate her effort.
The production company said filming and post-production have been completed. The film follows a contemporary production style aimed at OTT audiences. Its release date and streaming platform will be announced soon.
Mou began her showbiz career as a model and made her silver-screen debut with Protishodher Agun in 2019. She later appeared in Bandhab and Jemon Jamai Temon Bou. Her upcoming films include Child of the Station, directed by Zafar Al Mamun and co-starring Imtiaz Barshan.
She is also awaiting the release of Bangla Hercules, starring and produced by Monowar Hossain Dipjol and directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar; Bahaduri, directed by Shafiq Hasan; and Tobuo Prem Dami, directed by Mohammad Aslam. Her film Sneher Bandhan is scheduled for release on 9 October.
