Bangladesh reached 243 for 5 in their second innings against Pakistan in Sylhet on day three, building a 285-run lead after Litton Das fell for 69 and Mushfiqur Rahim passed fifty before Mehidy Hasan Miraz joined him at the crease.
Litton added 69 from 92 balls with five fours before Hasan Ali took his wicket, with Saud Shakeel holding the catch at slip in the 62nd over. His dismissal ended a key stand after he had earlier driven Bangladesh’s scoring through the middle session.
Mushfiqur Rahim held the innings together and reached his 30th Test fifty. He moved to the milestone off Sajid Khan with a quick single through mid-wicket. He stayed unbeaten on 53 as Bangladesh maintained control of the innings.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz walked in after Litton’s dismissal to support Mushfiq at the crease. Bangladesh built steady runs through the latter part of the session while extending their overall advantage beyond 280.
Earlier passages saw Litton dominate Pakistan’s bowling, including a fluent 126 in the first innings. He also crossed 50 again in the second innings before Sajid Khan dropped a return catch when he was on 55, denying Pakistan a key breakthrough at that stage.
Bangladesh moved past 200 with Mushfiq and Litton adding 88 for the fourth wicket. The partnership pushed the lead beyond 240 before the next update showed Bangladesh at 238 for 4 with a 284-run lead, then 243 for 5 with the advantage stretching to 285.
Pakistan’s bowlers created chances through Hasan Ali and Sajid Khan but struggled to hold them in the field. Bangladesh closed the session in control with one session left in the day.
