The upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations will be conducted nationwide in a completely corruption-free, transparent, and disciplined environment, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said, warning that any irregularity in answer script evaluation will not be tolerated.
“If any allegation against any examiner in script evaluation is proven, strict action will be taken against those concerned,” the minister said at an exchange meeting with centre secretaries of the Mymensingh Education Board and the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards of Mymensingh region in Mymensingh on Monday.
The minister stressed that alongside conducting the examinations smoothly, strict adherence to prescribed rules in answer script evaluation must be ensured.
“Any form of bias, negligence, or irregularity in evaluation negatively impacts the education system. Responsible and professional conduct by examiners is essential to ensure accurate reflection of students’ true merit and achievements,” he said.
Ensuring corruption-free examinations is a priority goal of the government, the minister added, calling on all concerned to perform their duties with utmost vigilance and sincerity so that students can pass based on their own merit.
He also emphasised maintaining strictness in examination centre management and ensuring discipline at every stage.
The education minister said initiatives have been taken to modernise the Public Examination (Offence) Act of 1980 to bring those involved in question leaks, forgery, and cheating in various government recruitment examinations under the law.
Referring to past irregularities, Milon said the tendency to show artificial success in examination results damages the quality of education.
“We must completely move away from such unethical practices and build an accountable and quality education system,” he said.
Local MPs, officials from divisional and district administrations, senior officials from various education boards, chairmen of madrasa and technical education boards, and other concerned individuals attended the meeting.
