A man died after falling ill while waiting in line to collect fuel cards at Alamdanga Upazila Parishad premises in Chuadanga on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Bakhtiar Hossain, 55. Alamdanga Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Panna Akter confirmed the matter.
The incident occurred around 9am when Bakhtiar collapsed from the heat while standing in the queue. He was rushed to a local clinic, where the duty doctor pronounced him dead.
Locals said the premises had been overcrowded since early morning as people gathered to collect fuel cards.
UNO Panna noted that Bakhtiar had pre‑existing health conditions and was taken to a clinic after falling ill in the heat.
