Bangladesh is set to face West Indies in a three-match T20I series starting October 27 at the Bir Sreshtha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. Ahead of the series opener, Bangladesh captain Litton Das expressed his desire to see his players perform under pressure.
Following the West Indies series, Bangladesh will host Ireland in November for another three-match T20I series as part of their preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Litton emphasized the importance of building mental resilience.
“To be honest, in these two series, I want our players to be put under pressure and face challenges, whether in batting or bowling,” Litton said.
Bangladesh is scheduled to play six T20Is, three each against West Indies and Ireland. Litton wants his players to learn how to bounce back from difficult situations.
“In these six games, if we fall behind and manage to come back, that will be great for us,” he said. “I’m talking about challenges within the match. I want the bowlers to perform well under pressure. Since we have a World Cup coming up, these experiences will help us prepare better.”
Following these two series, plans are underway for a tri-nation T20 series featuring Sri Lanka and Pakistan, likely to take place in Sri Lanka in early December.
