Whenever Jaya Ahsan appears on screen, audiences expect a new character, a fresh story, and a different emotional journey. The acclaimed actress has continued to leave her mark not only in Bangladesh and Kolkata but also in Bollywood with her versatile performances.
On Friday (June 26), the trailer of “Aajo Ardhangini,” directed by Kaushik Ganguly, was unveiled. The film is the sequel to the 2023 release “Ardhangini.” “Sharing the trailer on social media, Jaya posted an emotional note reflecting on the complexities of life and relationships.
“Life was never simple, and it never will be. Yet people continue to dream of living anew as equations keep changing,” she wrote.
Speaking about the many layers of relationships, she added, “In this endless search, there is no distinction between the past and the present. All boundaries fade away. ‘Aajo Ardhangini’ is a difficult testament to moving forward.”
The film is scheduled to hit theaters in Kolkata on July 10. The first installment, “Ardhangini,” was widely appreciated for its sensitive portrayal of love, separation, resentment, forgiveness, and the emotional complexities of relationships.
Earlier, Jaya had expressed her excitement about the project, saying, “‘Ardhangini’ was a mature and deeply sensitive story. Being able to work on its next chapter is a joy for me.”
Produced by Surinder Films, “Aajo Ardhangini” stars Jaya Ahsan alongside Kaushik Sen and Churni Ganguly, with Indrasish Roy and Ambarish Bhattacharya joining the cast in the sequel. Whether the new chapter can carry forward the emotional legacy of the original film will be revealed after its release on July 10.
