LafargeHolcim Bangladesh has posted a 36 percent year-on-year rise in profit after tax for the July–September quarter of 2025, reaching nearly Tk 120 crore, driven by growth in both cement and aggregates segments despite a sluggish construction market.

According to the company’s third-quarter financial statement, revenue rose 6 percent to Tk 668 crore, while year-to-date (YTD) revenue increased 5 percent to Tk 2,166 crore compared to the same period last year.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Tk 1.03, up from Tk 0.76 a year earlier, while the January–September earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk 3.06 from Tk 2.85 a year ago.

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh CEO Iqbal Chowdhury said the company’s performance remained resilient despite weak public investment and slower private credit growth.

“While the broader construction industry continues to face headwinds, our business achieved volume growth in both cement and aggregates, demonstrating strong customer confidence,” he said in a press statement.

He added that specialised cement products such as Water Protect and Fair Face registered significant growth.
“Our sustainability and diversification efforts continue to deliver results,” he said, citing the company’s Geocycle initiative, which co-processed over 34,000 tons of waste and replaced 11 percent of fossil fuel use.

Chowdhury said profitability had come under pressure due to energy costs and market price volatility, prompting rigorous cost-efficiency and pricing measures to offset those challenges.

He expressed optimism that diversification, innovation and disciplined cost management would help sustain growth in the coming quarters.

The company’s net profit margin for the third quarter rose to 17.9 percent from 14 percent a year earlier.
LafargeHolcim said it will continue focusing on operational efficiency, sustainable energy investments and digital transformation to strengthen long-term competitiveness.

The board of directors declared an interim cash dividend of 18 percent, or Tk 1.8 per share of Tk 10 face value, amounting to Tk 209.05 crore for the third quarter ending September 2025.

On Wednesday, LafargeHolcim shares rose 4.1 percent to Tk 53.3 each on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. The company’s net asset value per share stood at Tk 17.13 at the end of September.
