Bangladesh Krishi Bank secured the second prize silver award among the country’s top 10 banks for foreign remittance collection at the inaugural ceremony of the Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi World Conference Series 2026.
The event was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on April 12, with this year’s theme set as “Branding Bangladesh Beyond Borders”, according to a press release.
Managing Director Sanchia Binte Ali received the award on behalf of the bank, recognising its position as the second highest remittance-collecting bank in the country.
In her remarks, she said the bank collected $3.13 billion in remittances in 2025 and credited the achievement to its workforce and overseas clients.
She expressed gratitude to officers and employees across all branches, as well as expatriates for their continued trust in the bank’s network.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon attended the ceremony as chief guest.
Centre for NRB Chairperson Shekil Chowdhury presided over the programme, which was also attended by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obayed Islam and State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Md Nurul Huq.
Bangladesh Krishi Bank Deputy Managing Director Mohd Khaleduzzaman, economists, banking executives and representatives of the non-resident Bangladeshi community were also present.
