Jatiyotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has announced a month-long series of programmes to commemorate the historic July uprising and celebrate the second anniversary of “heroic victory” of the student-led movement against “misrule and fascism”.
The commemorative initiative aims to honour the martyrs and the injured, preserve historical memories, acknowledge the contributions of all stakeholders, and establish national unity against fascism.
As part of the observance, specific programmes have been scheduled for 28 July and 29 July.
Under the leadership of JCD Central Parliament, leaders from all university, district, city, upazila, college, and municipality units across the country will visit the graves of the martyrs to offer prayers for their departed souls.
The leaders will meet with the families of those martyred in the uprising to deliver gift items on behalf of government and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The schedule was announced on Monday by JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.
