Bangladesh Women stayed in the hunt for the Women’s T20I Tri-Series title with a 34-run win over Scotland Women in Edinburgh on Tuesday.

Scotland chased 153 for victory but never managed to take control of the innings. The hosts lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 118.

Sarah Bryce fought hard for Scotland with 40 runs from 41 balls. However, she did not get enough support from the other batters. Bangladesh kept the pressure on throughout the chase and sealed a comfortable victory.

Ritu Moni led the bowling attack with four wickets. Marufa Akter and Sanjida Akter Meghla took two wickets each. Rabeya Khan and Sobhana Mostary claimed one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Bangladesh recovered well after a poor start to post 152 for 6 in their 20 overs.

The Tigresses were struggling at 23 for 3 before captain Nigar Sultana Joty stepped up once again. She played a superb innings of 58 runs from 47 balls and guided her side to a competitive total.

Sobhana Mostary added 39 runs from 31 deliveries. Swarna Akter chipped in with 20 runs from 23 balls. Ritu Moni remained unbeaten on 7 from 4 balls at the end of the innings.

The victory keeps Bangladesh firmly in the race for the tri-series crown. Joty once again played a key role as the team bounced back with an important win.
