Mobile Business Community Bangladesh (MBSB) announced on Tuesday that the mobile market at Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka will remain closed indefinitely.
The mobile traders came up with the announcement after forming a human chain in front of Jamuna Future Park around 1pm.
The mobile traders made the decision after receiving no response to their call for talks with the government regarding demands related to the National Equipment Identity Register (NEIR). They will review the situation and announce a fresh programme on Wednesday.

Earlier on Sunday, mobile traders demanded to hold discussions with the government before the implementation of NEIR. Members of the MBSB made this demand at a human chain held at the Karwan Bazar intersection.
Alongside mobile traders from various shopping malls in the capital, shop employees also participated in the protest programme. They also kept their shops shut on that day.
