Ahead of the upcoming 13th national election and referendum, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin is holding a meeting with a six-member delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami.
The meeting began around 11:30am on Monday at the Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka’s Agargaon, with other election commissioners also present.
The Jamaat delegation was led by the party’s Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar.
Last week, the Election Commission held similar meetings with the BNP and the National Citizen Party (NCP).
On Sunday, following a commission meeting, the EC announced that the election schedule would be declared within the current week, with preparations already underway. On the same day, the commission also met with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
In addition, the EC members are expected to meet with the president on Wednesday or Thursday.
