The Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2026 Winter Edition concluded at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on Saturday, highlighting new opportunities for investment and Bangladesh’s growing appeal in event-led business tourism.
Held alongside the 8th Dhaka International Denim Show 2026, the four-day exhibition took place from 28 to 31 January, drawing participation from global textile and apparel stakeholders.
The twin shows were jointly organised by CEMS-Global USA and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
Organisers said the event marked a milestone as Bangladesh’s longest-running business-to-business yarn and fabric sourcing platform celebrated its 25th anniversary edition.
The exhibition was inaugurated on 28 January at Rajdarshan Hall-3 of the venue. The opening ceremony was hosted by CEMS-Global USA President and Group Managing Director (MD) Meherun N Islam and Deputy Secretary General and Director Chen Bo.
The event was attended by industry leaders and officials including Song Yang from the Chinese embassy in Bangladesh, Arifur Rahman Khan from the Ministry of Textile and Jute, Md Firoz Uddin from the Ministry of Industries, and Nafis-Ud-Doula from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The shows featured more than 650 booths, with nearly 325 companies from over 15 countries showcasing innovations in yarn, fabric, denim, textile technology and sustainable sourcing solutions.
Two thematic seminars were also held during the exhibition. A session titled “Why Invest in Bangladesh”, organised in collaboration with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, focused on the country’s economic potential and investor-friendly policy framework.
Another seminar on the “Importance of MICE Tourism in Bangladesh” discussed the prospects and economic impact of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions tourism.
Organisers said the successful conclusion of the exhibition further strengthened Bangladesh’s position as a global textile and apparel sourcing hub while enhancing its appeal as a destination for investment and event-driven business tourism.
