The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has directed the authorities to produce Lt Gen (retd) Mamun Khaled and Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury before it on 7 April.
The order came after the tribunal accepted prosecution petitions to show the two former army officials arrested in separate cases filed over enforced disappearance and killings during the July 2024 uprising.
Earlier in the day, the prosecution submitted petitions to ICT-2 seeking to show Mamun Khaled and Masud Uddin arrested, said Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim.
Mamun was arrested from Mirpur DOHS on Wednesday night, while Masud Uddin was arrested on 24 March.
In May last year, a court imposed a travel ban on Mamun Khaled and his wife, Nigar Sultana, following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The ACC said it was investigating allegations of financial irregularities and asset-related charges against them.
Mamun served as director of the Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Bureau (CTIB) of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) in the final phase of the army-backed caretaker government in 2007–08. He later became DGFI director general under the Awami League government, holding the post from 2011 to 2013.
