ICC Bangladesh (ICCB) organised a daylong workshop in Chattogram on Saturday to build the capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises and women entrepreneurs engaged in international trade, according to a press release.
The programme, held on 22 November at a city hotel, aimed to help participants better understand ICC rules and the complexities of global trade finance so they can make informed decisions and reduce risks linked to settling letters of credit, said the release.
The workshop was arranged under an ICC headquarters capacity-building initiative designed to support SMEs and women-led businesses in applying key trade rules such as UCP 600, Incoterms 2020 and ISBP in export–import operations.
ICCB said it has organised four such workshops since 2024 under the project, reaching around 300 SME participants and women entrepreneurs.
ICCB Secretary General Ataur Rahman inaugurated the event, while Mutual Trust Bank Executive Vice President A T M Nesarul Hoque conducted the daylong sessions.
A total of 95 participants, including bankers, women entrepreneurs and SME representatives, attended the workshop in Chattogram.
