Shakib Al Hasan has shared his grief after the death of coach Mahbub Ali Zaki. The Bangladesh star posted a heartfelt message on Facebook and remembered the coach with respect and emotion.
“I am deeply shocked and saddened at the news of the passing of coach Mahbub Ali Zaki,” Shakib wrote. He said he had known Zaki since his early days as a professional cricketer and spoke about the bond they shared.
“I have known him from my early days as a professional cricketer and I recall the fond memories of interacting with him,” he added.
Shakib also reflected on where Zaki spent his final moments. “His last moments were at a cricket ground doing the work he loved most,” he wrote, pointing to the coach’s lifelong dedication to the game.
The former captain ended his message by standing with Zaki’s family in their time of loss. “My heartfelt condolences to his family,” Shakib said.
Many from the cricket community have also paid tribute, as Bangladesh cricket mourns the loss of a coach who served the game with passion and commitment.
