The schedule for this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams has been officially released by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.
The exams will commence on 2 July, with the written exams running until 8 August, followed by practical exams which must be completed before 15 August.
The timetable, made public on Wednesday through the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka website, confirms that the first exam will be for Bangla First Paper (Compulsory) on 2 July. The final written exam, for Finance, Banking, and Insurance Second Paper, will take place on 8 August.
Examinations will be held in two shifts- the first shift will run from 10am to 1pm, and the second shift will take place from 2pm to 5pm.
Candidates must be seated in the exam hall at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the exam.
The HSC theory exams will follow a structured format, beginning with a 30-minute multiple-choice question (MCQ) section worth 30 marks, followed by a 2.5-hour creative (theory) section worth 70 marks. For practical exams, the MCQ section will carry 25 marks and last for 25 minutes, while the creative part will carry 50 marks and take 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Candidates are advised to collect their admit cards from their respective institutions at least seven days before the exams. They are also reminded to fill out their answer sheets correctly, including the roll number, registration number, and subject code.
In terms of equipment, students are allowed to use basic scientific calculators as approved by the board, but programming calculators are strictly prohibited. Additionally, mobile phones are not permitted inside the examination halls, and only authorised exam officials may use them.
