The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, has announced the schedule and guidelines for the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination form fill-up process.
The online application process is set to commence on 1 March and will continue until 9 March. This information was confirmed in a notification signed by Examinations Controller of Dhaka Education Board SM Kamal Uddin Hyder on Thursday.
According to the guidelines, the list of potential candidates will be published on the board’s website on 28 February.
The final date for depositing fees without a late fine is 10 March. However, students will have the opportunity to fill out forms with a late fee of Tk100 from 11 March to 18 March, which is also the deadline for fee submission with the penalty.
Fee structure
For students in the Science group, the total cost, including board and centre fees, has been fixed at Tk2,995.
Candidates from the Humanities and Business Studies groups will be required to pay Tk2,435.
Additionally, if a student in the Humanities or Business Studies groups has a practical examination for a fourth or elective subject, an additional fee of Tk140 per subject must be provided.
Terms and conditions
The board stipulated that only students with valid registrations are eligible to fill out the forms. Any examination taken in a subject outside of the official registration will be cancelled without prior notice.
The examinations for regular candidates will be conducted based on the 2026 rearranged syllabus formulated by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
Students from the 2020-21 academic session who failed in a single subject can participate in the 2026 exams by renewing their registration with a fee of Tk250.
Educational institutions may conduct model tests for the benefit of the students; however, these tests cannot be made mandatory, and no additional fees can be charged for them. Furthermore, the board clarified that institutions are permitted to collect a maximum of 24 months’ tuition fees from the candidates.
The official start date of the examination will be announced in a subsequent notification.
