The original ‘Hothat Brishti’, directed by Basu Chatterjee, was released in 1998 and starred Ferdous and Priyanka. The film went on to become one of the most successful Bangladesh-India joint productions.

In the remake, Arian takes on the role originally portrayed by Ferdous, while Radifa plays the character made famous by Priyanka.

Like the original, Abar Hothat Brishti is a joint production. The film has been produced by Ashirbad Chalachitra and Impress Telefilm, with the producers targeting a Durga Puja release.

The announcement marks the return of one of the most recognised stories from Bangladesh-India collaborative cinema to the big screen for a new generation of viewers.
