The Russian House in Dhaka is set to host Harmony of Friendship, an open-air concert marking the 100th anniversary of Russian public diplomacy alongside Bangladesh’s Victory Day.
The event will take place on Friday, December 5, at 6:30 at Rabindra Sarobar, Dhanmondi, drawing anticipation from Dhaka’s cultural community for an evening framed by cross-cultural performance and public celebration.
Designed as a platform for artistic dialogue between the two countries, the programme features a diverse slate of performances. Traditional Russian dances, presented in collaboration with the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will open the evening with choreographies that highlight classical folk idioms and contemporary staging.

The popular experimental band Shonar Bangla Circus will follow with a live set, bringing their signature fusion of folk, rock, and theatrical performance to the waterfront venue. The lineup also includes a folk segment by Akash, whose repertoire showcases Bangladesh’s rural musical heritage.
Organisers expect a large turnout, given the concert’s dual commemorative significance and its accessible, public format. However, they have advised against bringing small children due to expected crowd density and onsite safety considerations.
The event is executed by Jumpstart Inc.
