The government will respond quickly to ensure the safety of girl children at any cost, said Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid.
She made the statement at a discussion held at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy on Wednesday morning.
On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, a rally was held, which began from the swimming pool gate of University of Dhaka (near Doel Chattar) and ended at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy.
She stated, “The government aims to reach out to distressed girl children in the shortest time possible. Efforts are underway to ensure that the government’s services reach the grassroots level and marginalized girls. Work on this has already begun.”
Murshid also announced the launch of the “Rapid Quick Response Strategy” to address any kind of violence against children and women. The strategy aims to provide assistance within 24 hours anywhere in the country.
National Girl Child Day-2025 was observed on Tuesday under the theme “I am a girl child – I build dreams, I fight with courage, I work for the welfare of the country.”
