Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Berris Ekinci has conveyed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s greetings and invitation to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to visit Turkiye at a convenient time on Wednesday.
Ekinci extended the message during a courtesy call on CA Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday. Yunus expressed his appreciation and said he looked forward to visiting Turkiye soon, BSS reports.
Both sides discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in education, healthcare, and technology. CA Yunus described the meeting as “a new beginning after the July Uprising,” stressing the need to elevate Bangladesh-Turkiye relations to new heights.
Ekinci, on her first visit to Bangladesh, praised the warm hospitality she received and reaffirmed Turkiye’s commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s development initiatives, including scholarships and exchange programmes.
The CA also thanked Turkiye for providing free medical treatment to 7 Bangladeshis injured during the July revolution.
Senior Secretary and SDG Coordinator Lamiya Morshed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkiye M Amanul Haq and Director General of the East Europe and CIS wing Md Mosharaf Hossain were present at the meeting.
