Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu said on Wednesday that the government will continue to support the families of the fighters of the July mass uprising by ensuring medical treatment, welfare assistance, and long‑term rehabilitation.

“The government is committed to honoring the sacrifices of the martyrs and upholding the spirit of the student‑people’s movement against fascism,” the minister said.

He was speaking to journalists after laying wreaths at the July Uprising Memorial Monument at C&B Mor in Rajshahi city in the morning.

He added that plans are underway to guarantee long‑term financial security for the families of the fighters, reiterating the government’s commitment to building a prosperous and discrimination‑free Bangladesh in line with the aspirations of the July mass uprising.

On the occasion, July fighter Shakib Anjum’s father demanded justice, saying those responsible for his son’s killing must be brought to trial without delay.

Earlier, the minister paid tribute to the martyrs by placing wreaths at the July memorial alongside senior officials from the divisional and district administrations.

Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Foyzul Kabir, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam, and Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Ershad Ali Isha were present at the event.
