The government is not giving much importance to the United Nations’ report on alleged al‑Qaeda activities in Bangladesh, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said.
“Although the overall law and order situation in the country has improved significantly over the last six months, it has not yet been fully developed to meet public expectations,” he said on Monday afternoon.
The minister made the remarks at the Secretariat after a meeting at the Ministry of Finance.
However, the government is working to resolve the energy crisis, which will take more time, while the food situation has already improved considerably.
Earlier, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said a new pay scale would be announced this year. Discussions are ongoing, and further meetings will be held.
