The government has issued new directives aimed at conserving fuel by mandating virtual participation for field-level officials in government meetings, workshops, and training programmes.
According to a notice issued by Cabinet Division on Tuesday, ministries and divisions must prioritise virtual platforms for field-level participants in various activities.
The directive further instructs that subordinate officials at divisional and district levels should ensure their participation in various programmes via online platforms whenever possible.
The government stated that these measures have been adopted considering the global fuel situation to ensure fuel conservation while maintaining uninterrupted, effective, and dynamic government operations.
The instructions have been forwarded to the prime minister’s principal secretary, prime minister’s office, senior secretaries and secretaries of all ministries and divisions, as well as all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners (DCs), and upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs).
