Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased by Tk 2,193 per bhori, bringing the new rate to Tk 197,576, effective from Saturday.
This follows a previous rate of Tk 195,383 per bhori set by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) on September 29.
Gold prices have been climbing steadily, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by over Tk 16,000 in September alone.
Experts attribute the surge to factors like the international bullion market, the devaluation of the taka, and high inflation.
While Bangladesh does not import significant gold volumes, domestic prices remain closely linked to global trends, impacting both consumers and local industries reliant on gold.
