The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to cut gold prices again in the local market, reducing the rate by Tk2,158 per bhori.
Following the adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk2,64,948 per bhori, according to a statement issued by the association on Friday.
The new rate took effect from 10am. BAJUS said the decision was taken after the price of pure gold declined in the local market, prompting the association to revise the overall pricing structure.
Under the revised rates, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk2,64,948 per bhori, while 21-carat gold will cost Tk2,52,876 per bhori.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk2,16,775 per bhori, while gold produced through the traditional method will be sold at Tk1,76,943 per bhori.
BAJUS had earlier revised gold prices on March 12. At that time, the association reduced the price by Tk3,324 per bhori, setting the rate of 22-carat gold at Tk2,67,106 per bhori.
The prices of 21-carat and 18-carat gold were then set at Tk2,54,975 and Tk2,18,583 per bhori respectively, while gold produced through the traditional method was priced at Tk1,78,401 per bhori.
The revised rates had also taken effect from 10am on that day. So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 42 times in the local market. Among those adjustments, the price increased 26 times and decreased 16 times.
In 2025, BAJUS revised gold prices a total of 93 times, including 64 increases and 29 reductions. Despite the drop in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged in the domestic market.
Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk6,357 per bhori. The price of 21-carat silver stands at Tk6,065 per bhori, while 18-carat silver is selling at Tk5,190 per bhori.
