Golam Murtuza has joined Dhaka Capitals as the new assistant coach for the coming BPL season. The former Rajshahi cricketer has coached many local teams. The franchise confirmed his appointment. Earlier, Mahbub Ali Zaki took charge as a senior assistant in the coaching group.
Dhaka Capitals have also named Toby Radford as their head coach. He works as the head coach of the BCB High-Performance unit. The team drew attention earlier when they signed Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar as their mentor.
Only two teams from the last BPL season remain in the league. Dhaka Capitals are one of them. The squad for the twelfth edition is now complete. The tournament will start on 26 December.
Before the auction, the team signed Alex Hales, Saif Hassan, Usman Khan and Taskin Ahmed. They later strengthened the squad with players from the auction. They brought in Maruf Mridha, Mohammad Saifuddin, Zubairullah Akbari, Taijul Islam, Abdullah Al Mamun, Shamim Hossain Patwari, Irfan Shukkur, Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Dasun Shanaka, Mohammad Mithun, Zayed Ullah, Tofayel Ahmed and Moinul Islam.
