Jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali, sister of Sussanne Khan, has dismissed long-standing rumours that Sussanne received Rs 400 crore as alimony after her divorce from actor Hrithik Roshan.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Farah called the claim “completely false”. She said Sussanne did not take a single penny from Hrithik Roshan during their separation.
Farah expressed frustration over the repeated social media claims. She said it felt very wrong to see people still circulating the Rs 400 crore figure.
She said her family grew up valuing relationships over money. She added that Sussanne never demanded alimony. She also said this helped maintain a cordial relationship between Sussanne and Hrithik Roshan, as well as his parents Rakesh Roshan and Pinky Roshan.
Farah described Sussanne as a person who handled the divorce with dignity. She rejected claims that labelled her sister a “gold digger.”
She also said the divorce created a major stir within the family at the time. She noted that public reactions added to the pressure. However, she said both Hrithik and Sussanne handled the separation with maturity and ensured a respectful conclusion.
Farah added that she had earlier advised Sussanne to respond to the alimony rumours. She said Sussanne chose not to react and remained indifferent to public opinion about her character.
Reflecting on their past, Farah said Hrithik and Sussanne shared a strong bond and decided to marry despite early hesitation from Hrithik’s parents, who wanted him to focus on his rising career.
Hrithik Roshan is currently in a relationship with actress and model Saba Azad. Sussanne Khan is in a relationship with actor Arslan Goni. Despite their divorce, Hrithik and Sussanne continue to share a friendly relationship. Sussanne also attended Hrithik’s recent birthday celebrations with her partner.
