An employee of a garment factory died under mysterious circumstances in the capital’s Bangshal area on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shamim, 22, an employee of “Raju Fashion” located on 7th floor of Idris Plaza at Nazira Bazar crossroads in Bangshal.
Md Faisal, a colleague who transported him to the hospital, said Shamim had entered the factory bathroom shortly before evening. When he failed to show up after a considerable amount of time, his colleagues became suspicious and broke open the door.
Inside, they discovered Shamim hanging from an iron water pipe with a checkered towel wrapped around his neck.
He was immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival on Saturday.
Inspector Md Faruk, the in-charge of DMCH Police Camp, confirmed the death citing hospital sources. He further said that the body has been kept at the morgue for an autopsy
