Pakistan great Wasim Akram praised Bangladesh after they completed a Test series clean sweep over Pakistan and registered a fourth straight victory against the same opposition.
The former fast bowler shared his reaction on social media after Bangladesh sealed the series with another strong all-round performance. Akram admitted Pakistan’s defeat frustrated him but credited Bangladesh for the way they controlled the series.
“Really disappointed to see Pakistan beaten for the second time by Bangladesh,” Akram wrote.
“Full praise and marks to the winners as they played complete cricket.”
Bangladesh’s pace attack played a decisive role throughout the series. The bowlers generated movement and sustained pressure on surfaces that offered pace rather than heavy turn.
Akram pointed to that tactical shift while discussing Bangladesh’s development in Test cricket.
“Bangladesh used to have low, slow and big turners but now they preparing great test pitches, helping their fast rising pace bowlers who outpaced Pakistan.”
Bangladesh dominated key passages with the ball in both Tests. Their seamers attacked with fuller lengths and forced Pakistan’s batters into repeated mistakes, especially during pressure periods late in the innings.
Akram believes the team can now compete consistently against stronger Test sides.
“Bangladesh are now ready to compete against the best in this format.”
The former left-arm quick also singled out Nahid Rana for praise after the young fast bowler impressed with his speed and control during the series.
“And what a talent Nahid Rana is, treat to watch. Congrats Bangladesh.”
Bangladesh’s four consecutive Test victories against Pakistan marked a new milestone for the team in red-ball cricket. The result also strengthened their position in the World Test Championship standings and underlined the progress of their fast-bowling unit.
