The Election Commission has introduced four ways for voters to obtain their voter number and polling centre information for the upcoming referendum and national parliamentary election.
The methods were disclosed in a press release signed by the EC’s Public Relations Division Director, Md Ruhul Amin Mallik, on Saturday.
The methods are as follows:
Smart Election Management BD app
Voters can obtain their voter number and polling centre information through the Smart Election Management BD app. For this, the voter must download and install the Smart Election Management BD app from the Play Store (on Android) or the App Store (on iOS).
After installing the app, from the dashboard, select “Thirteenth National Parliament Election” and click on the “Find Polling Center” option. Then, enter your NID number and date of birth and press the search icon.
This will display the voter number, voter serial number, polling centre name, and polling centre address.
Hotline number 105
Voters in Bangladesh can also call the hotline number 105 to obtain the voter number and polling centre information. After calling 105, press 9 to speak with an operator.
To obtain information through this method, the voter’s NID number and date of birth are required. Therefore, one must call the hotline number 105 with this information at hand. This service will be available daily from 6am to midnight.
Via SMS to 105
Alternatively, one can also send an SMS to 105 to obtain voter-related details. From the messaging option on your phone, type “PC
To obtain the voter number and polling centre information via SMS, go to the message option on your mobile phone, type: “PC [NID Number]” and send the message to number 105. The voter number and polling centre information will be provided via a return text.
Election Commission website
Voter number and polling center information can also be obtained using the Election Commission’s website. For this, access the website ecs.gov.bd from any browser on a laptop, desktop computer, or mobile phone. Then, click on the ‘Polling Center’ menu on the website to find the polling center search option. The polling center can be searched in two ways on the website. First, by selecting the electoral area, upazila/thana, the list of relevant centers can be viewed. Second, by searching with the NID number and date of birth, voter number and polling center information can be obtained. Additionally, the website provides the facility to view the polling center’s location directly on Google Maps. Through Google Maps, detailed information about the distance to the polling center and the route can also be obtained.
