Four people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Gobindaganj and Sundarganj upazilas of Gaibandha on Thursday.
According to Gobindaganj Highway Police, Hasan Pradhan and Siddik Mia suffered serious injuries after a bus hit their auto-rickshaw while they were crossing a road in Palashbari late Wednesday night.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Doctors declared them dead on Thursday while they were undergoing treatment.
In a separate incident, a bus named Rani Special crashed into a stationary Hanif Paribahan bus on the Komorpur flyover along the Dhaka–Rangpur highway. Hanif bus helper Saju Mia died on the spot.
Meanwhile, in Sundarganj upazila, a pedestrian died after a motorcycle hit him on Thursday afternoon.
Police said they have started legal procedures in connection with the incidents.
