Police have recovered body of an Indian national from United Hospital in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Salim Kassim, 67, a resident of Kashmir, India. Her body was recovered around 11am on Tuesday.
Confirming the matter, Gulshan Police Station’s Sub‑inspector Alim said Kassim was living at Barak Park Valley on Park Road in the area.
She fell seriously ill at home and then her son, Suhail Salim Kassim, took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead, the SI added.
Police said no unusual marks were found on the body during the inquest. The exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report.
The hospital authorities said she died on the way before reaching the hospital. They found suspicious marks on her body and informed Gulshan police.
