Brac Bank profit grows 57% to record Tk2,250 crore

Brac Bank reported a record consolidated net profit of about Tk2,250 crore for the year ended December 31, 2025, becoming the first Bangladeshi bank to cross the Tk2,000 crore mark.

The bank finalised its financial statements at a board meeting on Sunday and declared a 30 per cent dividend, comprising 15 per cent cash and 15 per cent stock, for shareholders.

The bank’s consolidated net profit rose from Tk1,432 crore in 2024, marking a 57 per cent increase year-on-year, according to the latest disclosure.

On a standalone basis, the bank earned Tk1,581 crore in 2025, up from Tk1,214 crore a year earlier, reflecting a more than 30 per cent increase.

Consolidated earnings per share stood at Tk9.12, up from Tk6.18 in the previous year.

Consolidated net asset value per share rose to Tk51.56 from Tk39.38.

Consolidated net operating cash flow per share increased to Tk72.72 from Tk54.14.

The latest dividend compares with a total 25 per cent payout in 2024, when the bank distributed a 12.5 per cent cash dividend and a 12.5 per cent stock dividend.

 

The annual general meeting of Brac Bank will be held on 11 June on a digital platform, with May 17 set as the record date.
