A fire broke out in a slum in the Oxygen Square of Chattogram Bayazid Bostami police zone on Monday morning.
The blaze started at around 9:45am, officials said.
Five units of the Fire Service were deployed to contain the flames.
Shah Imran, deputy assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service, said they reached the scene at 9:50am after receiving an emergency call.
“The fire originated in a slum in the Oxygen Square. It is now under control. We prevented it from spreading further, and extinguishing work is ongoing,” he said.
No casualties have been reported so far.
