Actor Fazlur Rahman Babu has returned to drama shooting after a long break following heart surgery earlier this year.
Babu suffered a heart attack in February and remained hospitalised for more than two weeks before undergoing open-heart surgery. He then took a break from regular acting to focus on his recovery.
After months away from drama sets, the actor recently returned to the camera with Litu Karim’s drama Lobhi Mon. He said standing in front of the camera again made him feel that he had fully recovered.
Although Babu took part in promotional activities for the film Mastul, released on 17 July, he had not resumed drama shooting since falling ill.
He completed shooting for Lobhi Mon last Saturday. The drama also stars Raonak Hasan, Farzana Chhobi and others.
Babu is currently also busy shooting an OVC.
Speaking about his return, Babu said he had been working regularly for years before his illness forced him to step away.
“I have acted regularly for a long time. This time, I had to stay away from acting because of my illness. I returned to drama shooting with Lobhi Mon. It was wonderful to meet my co-stars again and spend time chatting with them after such a long break,” he said.
Describing the set as a second home, he added, “These are familiar people and this is a familiar environment. It feels like another family to me. I felt as though I had returned home.”
Babu said his return to a drama set also gave him confidence about his physical recovery.
“I took part in a few small projects after falling ill, but I had not returned to drama shooting. Now that I have stood in front of the camera again, I feel that I am completely well,” he said.
The actor also expressed gratitude to those who kept in touch with him during his illness.
“Many people regularly checked on me and were worried about my health. Like me, they were also waiting to see when I would return to shooting. I am deeply grateful to everyone. Please keep me in your prayers so that I can stay healthy and continue working regularly,” he said.
With his return to shooting, Babu now hopes to resume a busy schedule and continue acting regularly.
