The expat voter registration app — Postal Vote BD — will be officially launched on Tuesday evening.
Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah announced this during the third day of dialogue with registered political parties for the 13th national election. The event was held at the Election Commission conference hall in Dhaka’s Agargaon.
He said, “On Tuesday, we will inaugurate the voting app for expatriate Bangladeshis. This app is for registration to vote from abroad. To accommodate users overseas, the launch has been scheduled to align with global time zones.”
He highlighted that there are 1.40 crore Bangladeshis living abroad. “Compared to other countries, we expect a high number of expatriate voters,” he added.
According to the EC Secretariat’s Director of Public Relations and Information Officer Md Ruhul Amin Mallick, Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will officially inaugurate the Postal Vote BD mobile app at the EC auditorium at 6 pm.
