Member of the BNP’s Standing Committee Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that ethics in politics are extremely important.
The BNP leader said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled “My First Vote and the Future of Bangladesh”, organised by Private University Chhatra Dal, Chittagong Division, at the Chittagong Press Club on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that if there is no tolerance in politics, if we don’t respect differing opinions, cannot coexist, then politics will not be able to offer anything to Bangladesh,” he said.
Amir Khosru said, “A change in mindset is more important than the change brought by Gen Z. BNP is moving forward by embracing the change of that Gen Z.”
He further said, “BNP believes in a political culture of public participation.” In this regard, he informed that BNP has issued a “Family Card”, which will be implemented if it comes to power. He promised that after a BNP government is formed, equal opportunities in the sports sector for boys and girls will be ensured.
Amir Khasru said, “We have already planned how much investment we will make in each sector and within what timeframe.”
He said, “A new trend of accountability for politicians has begun. BNP has started this trend. This is very essential in politics. A practice of speaking directly, without formal address, must be created. Too much time is wasted with formal addresses. We will talk about a new Bangladesh, but everything cannot run by old rules; that can never happen.”
Among those who spoke at the seminar were BNP national executive committee’s assistant organising secretary Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, national executive committee members Justice Faisal Mahmud Faizi and Hummam Kader Chowdhury, International Affairs Sub-Committee members Israfeel Khasru, Nasrul Kadir, and Youth Voice of Bangladesh Chairman Barrister Tareq Akbar Khandakar.
The event was chaired by Private University Chhatra Dal President Md Abu Huraira. It was conducted by General Secretary M Rajibul Islam Talukdar (Bindu).
