The International Emmy-winning Turkish drama Kara Sevda has arrived in Bangladesh in Bengali. Titled Ananta Bhalobasha, the hit series begins airing on Deepto TV today.
Originally broadcast on Turkey’s Star TV from 2015 to 2017, Kara Sevda made history in 2017 as the first Turkish series to win an International Emmy. It won Best Telenovela at the 45th International Emmy Awards. The drama has since reached audiences in more than 110 countries.
The Bengali version will air on Deepto TV, Deepto Play and the channel’s digital platforms from Saturday to Thursday at 8:30pm.
The series stars Burak Özçivit as Kemal Soydere, Neslihan Atagül as Nihan Sezin and Kaan Urgancıoğlu as Emir Kozcuoğlu. It follows Kemal, a young man from a middle-class family, and Nihan, an artist from a wealthy family, whose love is tested by social differences, family secrets and Emir’s obsession with Nihan.
Years after Kemal leaves the city, he returns as a successful businessman and begins uncovering the secrets that drove him and Nihan apart. Their reunion sets off a struggle involving love, revenge and Emir’s schemes.
For the Bengali version, Shafiqul Islam, Rubaiya Matin Gity and Morshed Siddique have lent their voices to Kemal, Nihan and Emir respectively.
Under the supervision of Mahmudul Hasan Murad, Deepto TV’s in-house dialogue-writing team handled the translation, adaptation and editing of the Bengali dialogue.
