NCP’s Election Steering Committee Secretary Monira Sharmin has alleged that the Election Commission is obsequiously serving one party, which is an obstacle to a fair election.

She said this during a press briefing organised at NCP’s temporary office on Wednesday evening.

Monira Sharmin said, “An attempt is underway to influence the election using state institutions. Where the Election Commission, as an independent constitutional body, should stand firm with a straight spine, there they, along with the police administration, are working for a particular party. They are harassing women who go out for election campaigning.”
