The admission test for the 2025–26 BBA programme of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Dhaka University was held on Friday morning.
A total of 9,526 candidates sat for the exam against 120 seats, meaning nearly 80 students (79.38) competed for each seat in one of the country’s most competitive admission tests.
After visiting the exam centres, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan said the test was conducted in a “very fair, peaceful and orderly environment.”
He added that the intense competition meant many students would not secure a place, but emphasized that “getting in or not getting in is not the end of life.”
Niaz urged parents not to put psychological pressure on their children over the results.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Proffesor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Proctor Associate Proffesor Saifuddin Ahmed, and IBA Director Professor Shakil Huda were also present during the visit.
Meanwhile, the undergraduate admission test (General Knowledge and Drawing) for the ‘Fine Arts Unit’ will be held on Saturday.
Tests for the ‘Business Studies Unit’ are scheduled for 6 December, the ‘Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit’ on 13 December, and the ‘Science Unit’ on 20 December. All admission tests will run from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
