Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Khan visited the ailing Emeritus Professor Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam of the Department of English, currently undergoing treatment in critical condition at LabAid Hospital in the capital.
During the visit, the vice-chancellor inquired about Professor Islam’s health and ongoing treatment from the attending doctors.
He expressed his sincere wishes for the speedy recovery and the well-being of the distinguished academic.
Assistant Proctor and Associate Professor Muhammad Mahbub Kayser, Assistant Proctor Dr Shantu Barua, and Acting Chief Medical Officer of Dhaka University Dr Mohammad Tanvir Ali were also present at the hospital during the visit.
Professor Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam suddenly fell ill on Friday and was later admitted to LabAid Hospital. He is currently on life support under close medical supervision.
