Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has imposed a ban on the unauthorised publication and promotion of official documents, summaries, and confidential information on social media.
At the same time, government officials and employees have been directed to perform their duties by ensuring the confidentiality and security of these records. The directive was issued in an office order signed by the DSCC Secretary, Md Mashiur Rahman Khan.
According to the office order, the unauthorised disclosure of any confidential information, decisions, photocopies, photographs, or summaries of documents is a punishable offence under the “Official Secrets Act, 1923.”
Consequently, those concerned have been cautioned against publishing or sharing any official records or information on social media without prior approval.
The authorities added that ensuring the confidentiality and security of documents is essential for the sake of transparency in government work, accountability, and national security.
