Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,493 cases against traffic law violation during drives conducted across various areas of Dhaka.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter in a press release at 10:30pm on Thursday night.
According to the press release, Traffic-Ramna Division filed 94 cases, which included 4 buses, 1 truck, 3 covered vans, 9 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 32 motorcycles.
Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 79 cases, involving 4 buses, 8 trucks, 3 covered vans, 14 CNGs, and 27 motorcycles.
Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 73 cases, which included 6 buses, 3 trucks, 3 covered vans, 8 CNGs, and 43 motorcycles.
Traffic-Wari Division filed 240 cases, including 17 buses, 36 trucks, 32 covered vans, 18 CNGs, and 74 motorcycles. Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 92 cases, involving 6 buses, 3 trucks, 9 covered vans, 9 CNGs, and 38 motorcycles.
The total number of cases in Traffic-Mirpur Division 439, in Traffic-Uttara Division 316, and in Traffic-Gulshan Division 158.
During the operations, a total of 290 vehicles were impounded and 157 vehicles were towed.
