Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has urged traders to extend full cooperation to magistrates from the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection during market inspections, stressing the importance of transparency and fair pricing.

Addressing reporters following a meeting with Moulvibazar business associations at Chawkbazar on Friday, the DMP commissioner called on all business leaders to work closely with authorities to ensure compliance and protect consumer interests.

Highlighting the need for vigilance during the holy month of Ramadan, SM Sazzat Ali appealed to traders to maintain affordable prices for essential commodities. He also warned that adulteration in food items would not be tolerated.

“During Ramadan, it is critical to keep commodity prices under control and ensure food safety. Everyone must remain alert and responsible,” he said.

DMP’s Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md Nazrul Islam, representatives of the Moulvibazar business associations, and officials from the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection attended the briefing.
